Thank you for your interest in volunteering on our event day. This year volunteers will have to register their team in order to be assigned a family. Below is a brief description of what to expect for your team. Simply complete the form and we will contact you with more information before the event day.
Due to COVID, our teams will operate differently in 2020. In an effort to eliminate exposure, we have decided to assign families to each team. You will get to experience all aspects of Secret Families in 2020. Each team will get to shop and deliver the gifts to a 2020 Secret Family recipient. Our teams will be simply dropping off the gifts outside this year in order to eliminate exposure for both the volunteers and the families we are serving.

Secret Families Volunteer Teams for 2020
Teams should have 4-5 people. Team Captains will be contacted via e-mail prior to the day of the event.
Meet at Portland Walmart a few minutes before your designated time.
Sign in and pick up an information sheet at the front table.
Stay within the per person budget!!
If you happen to exceed the budget, you can choose to pay the overage if you wish.
Shop for sale items, racks and specials to get more bang for your buck!
Try to complete the shopping for each family in 30 minutes. This will keep us moving and help to get presents to the wrapping phase on time.
Pick a meeting spot for your team to meet at a designated time. Gather as a team and go through the checkout together.
We understand that we don’t know these families or their sizes. Typos happen and parents don’t always know the sizes. Just use your best judgement!
When done shopping, you will be responsible for transporting the families gifts.
Each family member has their own bag of presents. Check your list to be sure you have the correct number of bags for the family.
Keep the families bags grouped together to prevent losing any of them.
There are several presents in a bag for each family member and several families.
Notify a Secret Families Member to pick up the directions to the recipient’s home along with Bible and other items to deliver.
Transport gifts to recipient’s home and drop of items. Families will be notified that their delivery is on the way. Due to COVID, we are simply dropping gifts off this year.
